PMR Has No Back Rooms

We ensure our customers have a private, secure, and professional experience. We guarantee confidentiality for every transaction. Unlike our competitors, our professionally trained staff invites you into our private buying offices and you are never separated from your valuables. We analyze your items right in front of you with our state-of-the-art equipment. To protect your valuables, we use an x-ray machine to limit contact and ensure that your items are not scratched or damaged.

Private, Confidential, and Safe

Most stores have their customers wait at the counter and analyze their valuables in the presence of other customers. This can be dangerous, other people can see the entire transaction; the valuables that were brought in and how much money the customer has received during the transaction. Our process provides you with a private, confidential and safe experience when you sell your items to PMR.

Get the Most Value

We pay more than pawn shops and mail-in buyers. We’ll beat any written offer.

Secure & Confidential

Private, in-person evaluations. Your items will never leave your sight.

Eliminate the Middleman

We refine in-house & sell direct, which means more money for you.

Our History

Robert Chorost & David Schiesel founded Precious Metals Refinery in Tucson, Arizona in 2011. Their goal was to offer clients a direct place to sell without a middleman in order for our clients to receive the most money possible for their items.

Our Inspiration

The inspiration of the company was family member Richard Baron, former Executive Director of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers and Director of the National Association of Watch Dealers. Baron used this knowledge, and the experience he acquired while owning and managing retail jewelry stores, to create a separate division of PMR in Newport Beach, CA. He succeeded in his vision of making PMR a premier diamond, jewelry, gold, silver, platinum, watch, and coin-buying company.

After many years of being Managing Director, Robert Chorost and Julia Chorost acquired David Schiesel’s half of the business with the desire to open more locations and to continue offering more services to the public.
